HOW TO PREPARE FOR DESCRIPTIVE PAPER SBI PO MAINS?

State bank of India Probationary Officer Mains Exam includes Descriptive Test of English Language. It is conducted to evaluate the writing, understanding, analyzing and summarizing abilities of candidates. For some candidates it is a nightmare and for some it’s a child’s play.

Descriptive Test comprises of Letter Writing and Essay Writing which is to be completed in 30 minutes duration and carries 50 marks. Strategy to prepare for Descriptive Test

1) Read English newspaper on daily basis.

2) Understand the writing style used in newspaper.

3) Keep a track on current, economic topic as Essay topics are mostly based on these topics.

4) Practice daily to write on any one topics.

5) Get it evaluated from a subject expert to know your English language abilities.

6) While writing a letter writing always keep in mind the format of Letter. Besides language there is a need to display the letter according to the format used.

7) Develop your list of difficult words by using a certified dictionary such as OXFORD DICTIONARY to understand the meaning of the word.

8)Use English medium to speak with your friends who are good in English.

9) Use the difficult words in your regular conversation to understand the usage and meaning of the word. It makes the exam easy as you get to know so many new words along with their respective meaning.

10) Do not repeat the same word or phrase as it makes the script boring. Writing should be creative enough to catch the attention of the reader. It helps in getting good score too.

11)Write short sentences instead of long ones to give an idea about your views in a nutshell.

12) Join SBI PO ONLINE TEST SERIES to practice mock tests available and work on the analysis provided by them about your performance.
